Users will be able to switch between hands-free and handheld modes with ease due to a capacitive touch sensor and accelerometer that work together to switch to handheld mode the instant an associate picks the scanner up. The DS9908R is purposefully built for both presentation mode and handheld mode. When in presentation mode the scan range is limited to avoid unintentional scanning. Handheld mode allows scanning up to 24 inches - easily reaching items in a cart.
