Rugged Access Point for General Purpose Outdoor Wireless
Meraki’s MR74 access point is ready to handle the toughest environments. Similar to the MR84, it is built with IP67 seal rating and is totally protected against dust and water-proof (up to 1 meter full submersed!) It has been tested for shock, vibration, and moisture. Use it indoors, outdoors, from -40°F to 131°F. It also can handle voice- video, and performance-intensive networks.

The primary power supply comes from Power-over Ethernet or it is 802.3af PoE compatible. The MR74 has four radios that all run concurrently:
- 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n client access radio
- 5 GHz 802.11a/n/ac client access radio
- 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz dual-band WIDS/WIPS, spectrum analysis, & location analytics radio
- 2.4 GHz Bluetooth radio with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Beacon support
For efficient transmission of data from a large number of simultaneous users, the MR74 has MU-MIMO support and a theoretical maximum aggregate frame rate of 1.3 Gbps. Furthermore, the MR74 is equipped with a 1G Ethernet port.
The MR74 features Meraki’s AirMarshal Radio, a third radio dedicated to delivering 24x7 wireless security and RF analytics. This radio constantly monitors the local RF environment and adjusts RF usage to avoid interference. For guest access, the MR74 is equipped with one-click guest isolation so guests can only access the Internet. This access point also has an integrated Layer 7 firewall with mobile device policy management for further protection.
Lastly, when using a Meraki access point, you get one of the easiest to use and deploy access points on the market. All security updates, bug fixes, configurations, and more are handled through a cloud-based interface, the Meraki Dashboard. And because the device is self-configuring and managed over the web, it can even be deployed at a remote location in a matter of minutes without an on-site IT staff.
