Zebra Omnii XT15 Computer
Motorola XT15 Review
If you are looking for an extremely rugged computer designed for the warehouse, you have struck gold. And yes, you will pay a little extra for the ruggedness.
The XT15 was designed by Psion Teklogix, a company purchased by Motorola in 2012. Psion, long known for their rugged devices, designed the XT15 with a drop spec of 6.5'. With its laser etched keys, your "enter" or "field exit" keys will not wear out. The XT is also available with a "high duty" with improved impact resistence and low temp operability. For AS/400 users, the alpha/numeric keypad has six external function keys. The beeper (i.e. scan beep, key stroke beep) can be set to a volume of 95db so your users will be able to hear in the midst of warehouse noise. The OS options for the unit are Windows® CE 6.0 or Windows® Embedded Handheld 6.5.
Internal scan engines offered as options for the XT 15 include 1D standard range, 1D long-range (Lorax), 1D/2D imager or the SE4600 1D/2D extended range imager. The SE4600 scan engine option is considered to be "future proofing" for any future 2D scanning requirements. The XT15 comes certified to support 3rd party voice picking software and offers “push-to-talk” capability. Standard terminal emulation optionss include TekTerm, Stay-Linked and Wavelink. If you’re an AS/400 user, please check out Stay-Linked as it is the premier AS/400 terminal emulation.
